the life we’re living today is often the result of decisions and actions from six months ago. some examples could be the results from working out, starting a side project, or being more intentional with our relationships
we talk a lot about "hitting rock bottom," and having to start over. i think a better way to describe it is velocity: whether we’re moving in the direction we want, at a pace we feel good about. when this isn't the case, i often experience discomfort and urgency to proactively "fix" my life
but as both you and i know, it's never as easy as waking up and fixing things in one day. it takes days, weeks, months, or even years of concentrated effort to reach the velocity we're happy with
this past year has been difficult for me in multiple ways. however, i've learned to appreciate my newfound understanding of how life "works," and the fragility of our situations and that the concept of sonder is very real. everyone's velocity is constantly changing. some accelerating, others starting from "zero"
